This article only applies to you when you've received an email from splitkb.com about exactly this article. This article covers a very specific situation, and so won't apply to most orders.
Generally, when you order something at splitkb.com, the shipping cost you've paid is the final shipping cost for your order. That holds true for 99% of the orders.
However, in a select few cases, the shipping charges end up being significantly higher than anticipated. This can be the case when you live in a remote area, and have chosen for DHL Express shipping. These rates are hard to determine up front, since they differ per zip code.
And so, unfortunately, I sometimes have to ask you to pay for the extra charge, as I'm not able to cope with these charges. You have a few options:
- Change the shipping address: You can give me a new shipping address in an area that wouldn't be affected by the surcharge, such as a PO box in a nearby city, or the address of a friend or a family member.
- Change the shipping method: You can change the shipping method to a different method. Often, an alternative method would take longer to ship, but may be more affordable. Depending on the chosen method, additional charges or refunds may apply.
- Cancel the order: You can cancel your order. Of course, I'd rather send you your order, but with increased shipping costs the order may no longer be as attractive to you.
