My parcel is being returned
It's unfortunate, but it happens to the best of us: your order is being returned to us.
Why does this happen?
It can happen for many reasons, including but not limited to:
- The shipping carrier performed one or more delivery attempts, but they weren't succesful;
- The shipping carrier deemed the shipping address to be invalid, incomplete or wasn't able to find the address;
- The label of the parcel was too damaged to make out the shipping address;
- The parcel was delivered to a pick-up point, but you did not retrieve the item in time;
- The customs authority required you to pay for import fees, but you declined to pay or were too late with the payment.
Either way, it's annoying for sure!
What now?
The parcel will find its way back to splitkb.com, eventually. Return shipments can take a few weeks.
Once the parcel has returned to us, we'll generally reach out to you. Then, you can choose whether we should ship the parcel back to you, or whether you'd prefer to get a refund instead.
If the mistake is the carrier's or ours (such as us getting your address wrong), we'll either ship your order back to you free of charge, or fully refund your order including the shipping costs.
If the mistake is yours, such as getting your own address wrong, declining to pay for import fees or not picking up the parcel in time, we may need to charge you the shipping costs once more, and/or we may be forced to withhold the shipping fees (both to and from the destination) from the refunds.
In any case, if you have questions about the status of your order, please feel welcome to send us an email. We're happy to help!
