Which shipping methods do you offer?
At splitkb.com, we work with a variety of shipping carriers. Some of them offer services all over the world, others only offer their services in select countries. Generally, though, you can choose from the following:
- PostNL is our primary shipping carrier in the Netherlands.
- DHL Express offers shipping to most international destinations, and is among the fastest carriers. They offer a fast Express service, and a still fast but more affordable Express Economy service.
- FedEx offers shipping to most international destinations, and is usually a very fast option. They offer a fast Priority service, and a still fast but more affordable Economy service.
- DPD offers shipping to most European and European-adjacent destinations. They're slower than the express shippers, but also more affordable.
- DHL GlobalMail offers shipping to most international destinations, and is usually the slowest yet most affordable. They use your local national shipping carrier for the last mile.
The carbon output of every shipping method is compensated for using Shopify Planet, using a combination of reforestation, soil carbon storage, ocean-based removal and direct-air capture methods.
A carrier doesn't show up when checking out
It's possible that you're not seeing one or multiple of the carriers listed above when you're checking out. Shipping rates are calculated based on your exact shipping address. Carriers may not offer their services to all countries, and carriers may not offer their services to the entirety of a country either. If you live remotely, chances are there'll be fewer carriers available to choose from.
If you can't choose a carrier during checkout, then we won't be able to use that method for you either. What you see is what you get!
What about untracked mail?
If your order is very small, you may wonder if we're able to send it by untracked mail and just use stamps. The answer is no.
Envelopes containing products are required to be trackable with a barcode, and that requires us to select an appropriate shipping method. As such, we're unable to send items by bubble envelope. If items are shipped without an appropriate method, they may be returned to us at best, or may even be destroyed. That's quite a waste!
An exception to this are replacements for lost or defective items, which we do send with untracked mail from time to time. Those usually slip through.
