What is sales tax, and do I have to pay it?
Each product page displays two prices: one with sales taxes included, and one without.
Within the European Union, we levy sales taxes over all items we sell. By default, the Dutch tax rate of 21% is displayed. At checkout, your country's local tax rate will be calculated, meaning you might pay more or less than the values displayed in the store.
We ship from the Netherlands, Europe. So within the European Union, you won't face any import fees. If you reside in a country outside of the union, such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Norway, you may have to pay customs fees and taxes.
Splitkb.com cannot influence taxes charged by your local customs authority, and is not responsible for paying these fees.

Ordering from within Europe
You'll pay your local country's sales tax rate. For the Netherlands, this is 21%, but for other countries it may be higher or lower (Germany, for example, sits at 19%). Your local rate will be applied during checkout, so your shopping cart won't display the final price.
No import fees will apply to any orders within Europe, as we ship from the Netherlands, which is part of Europe.
Ordering from the UK
Below a value of 150GBP, we will charge you your local VAT rate. Above that value, we won't charge you any VAT and instead you will have to pay the VAT to the shipping carrier during the import process. There is no purchasing threshold or limit, so feel free to order what you'd like!
Generally, you'll face import charges when ordering above a value of 150GBP.
Ordering from the US
You won't pay any sales tax at splitkb.com, so you can look at the prices in the shop without taxes (the bottom price).
The import threshold differs per state, but generally you won't have to pay any import fees or taxes when ordering at splitkb.com. The import threshold for most states is above 800 USD.
You may want to consult your local tax authority if you'd like to know for sure what your states' threshold is.
Ordering from Norway
We collect VAT on orders from Norway. You won't have to pay customs fees or duties on your order.
Other destinations
You won't pay any sales tax at splitkb.com, so you can look at the prices in the shop without taxes (the bottom price).

An item I want is out of stock.
When an item is out of stock, you can sign up for back-in-stock notifications on its product page.
