Should I buy a case?
Is a case required?
No, but we do recommend it. Some people do use their keyboard without a case, as it decreases the overal height by a few millimeters. However, it does make your keyboard more susceptible to damage. Using a top plate keeps the switches on straight, and keeps them from being removed easily which is important when using hot swap sockets like this keyboard does.
Can I make my own case?
Yes, you can. We have 2D case files available on Github, with which you can laser cut plates or have them manufactured. Our keyboards are also generally compatible with open-source cases, though you may have to check for compatibility with the jacks, as Halcyon keyboards use a different position for the interconnect cable. Can I change my case later on?
Yes, you can. The Halcyon series all use hot-swap sockets for the switches, so none of the assembly is permanent. Swapping out the top plate is a bit of a chore, but it's very much doable!
Can I tent my keyboard?
Tenting pucks are adapters which allow you to mount a camera tripod to your keyboard, with which you can adjust the angle of your keyboard to match your body.
Which cables do I need?
The cable which connects both halves of your keyboard to one another.
