How do I choose switches and keycaps?
Switches are the mechanisms which you press to type. They're what makes a mechanical keyboard mechanical, conventional keyboards have a rubber sheet that spans across all keys, which can't be customised. With mechanical keyboards, you can choose from a large variety of switches to fit your preference.
Can I tent my keyboard?
Tenting pucks are adapters which allow you to mount a camera tripod to your keyboard, with which you can adjust the angle of your keyboard to match your body.
Is using a module required?
No, a module is not required. You won't need to use a module in order to use your keyboard. You can choose to add one later on, too, and the modules are reusable across all Halcyon keyboards released now and in the future.
Do I need to use a module on both sides?
No, you can use a single module, too, or even no module at all.
Is it easy add or swap a module?
Swapping out a controller can be done in a few minutes. Changing a module requires removing the bottom plate, mounting the module with some screws and plugging its cable into a connector. Some modules require some more steps than others: every module has its own installation guide to get you started.
Can I use other modules than those sold at splitkb.com?
Yes, you can. The Halcyon keyboards as well as the Halcyon modules adhere to the VIK standard set forth by Sadek Baroudi. This means you can use other modules on our keyboards, and you can use our modules on other keyboards, too.
